Day 14 & 15 | Upper Mid-West Tour

Sorry for the double day posts, but we have been having a lot of fun and it stays light out here until 10p, so by then, it’s “wow it’s 10p we need to start getting ready for bed.  No wonder I am tired” 😆

Yesterday, Monday 6/19 was another great day!!  Jim, Amy, and I rode our bikes to Logan Pass from Avalanche Lake on the famous road, Going To The Sun Road.  What an amazing day, and what a difference a day makes.  The day before it was very cloudy and overcast, and yesterday when we rode GTTSR it was beautiful, and the sun was shinning about 90% of our ride.  We didn’t add more layers until we got to the top at Logan Pass.  It was about 38 degrees at the top and about 55 at the bottom when we started.  Lynn decided to hang back and have a more relaxing day, not riding her bike straight up for 15+ miles, and then flying down the mountain as a reward.  I’m not sure why she would want to miss the ride?? 🤷‍♂️

Here are some of the same pictures from the day before, but from a different perspective, from the seat of the bike, and also different weather.

I was able to see some wildlife as well on the climb.

There was also some snow left.

Today, Tuesday 6/20 because my legs were a little tired, we decided to head toWhitefish to do a hike, and drive around before lunch.  The road that leads into Glacier NP is under construction, and is very rough with a lot of potholes on a dirt/gravel and dusty road.  And after driving it the last 2 days, and sitting in construction traffic waiting for our turn to go, we had enough of that for a day, hence our decision to go to Whitefish.  Plus I did need some more fuel and we stopped at the grocery on the way back.  Here is a picture from the overlook of our hike and of the lake homes.

Tomorrow we plan to do a hike with Amy and Jim in Glacier before we head south on Thursday.
