Day 6 | Upper Mid-West Tour
Today we got up early and hit the South Unit of Roosevelt NP. As always most people are still dillydallying or dotaling (as Jerry Franks would say, and Siri clearly doesn’t like the spelling of either word 😳) around at 7am when we arrived at the park.

We went back to our campsite from last night around 11 to move to our new campground in the National Park. We ended up with a great site after trying 2 others. We made friends with the volunteer ranger and he told us which sites had cancellations and we “traded in” our original site or an “upgrade”.

And we. Lynn too, went for a ride this afternoon. She rode 22 miles getting ready for Going To The Sun Road in Glacier NP. Here are some pictures from our ride.

And after we made Shrimp Fried Rice for dinner we went on a walk and saw 2 baby owls. They were down at the base of the tree waiting for their mother to feed them.
We are heading to Greycliff, MT tomorrow on our way to St. Regis, MT to ride some rails to trails for a few days. I’ll try to send this tomorrow when I have a signal. We are pretty remote.
We saw a ton of bison and deer, because they were ready for us.

This is our first NP campground and as we have always heard they are tight and only accommodate medium to small RV’s, no big monsters. If you are over 14’ tall forget about it as they don’t trim the branches of the trees for you and the road is narrow, windy, with lots of trees. We took it slowly through the obstacles and made it to a great site.
Still working on the battery issue but it’s Sunday so no real progress, except they were at 100% around noon when I turned the truck off after being parked. We are around 85% around 8:45 mountain time. We have a long drive tomorrow, so they will charge during the drive. I added a dc to dc charger, which basically charges the batteries from the truck’s alternator, just as it charges the truck’s battery, it now charges the Airstream’s batteries with a 20 amp charger.
Anyway we also saw one of Roosevelt ranch homes.
